New Beginnings

Leaving Virginia and shop life behind. Welcome Maine!

It's been such a long time coming. As a newlywed way back in 1986, we went to Maine to see my in laws new beach cottage. I'm a Michigan girl so ocean life wasn't one I knew. Well, it took me a second to fall in love. It wasn't just the ocean. It was the air, light and colors. They were different in the best way. Everything seemed brighter, clearer and fresh. Flowers looked so different. A red geranium looked like a color I had never seen. We always dreamed of a life in Maine. Babies came and they too fell in love with this slice of heaven. We always felt like this would be our place one day. Leap forward to retirement and we made it happen. More on that later.

So here we are. I'm starting new with this site. (Please be patient as I navigate.) I so hope that you will follow along on this journey with me. I can't wait for more inspiration. I'm setting up house and my new studio. Here is a peek.

Loads to still do but I'm trying to take it easy and relax a bit too. Here is a peek at one of my favorite scrubbed pine pieces from England. Perfect piece to hold pieces in process and finished.
